Where are the vegetables? But still an excellent meal.
This has happened to me before. The picture shows a side of vegetables, but what shows up is a bag of shaved bitter greens, mostly kale, with some assorted very thinly sliced root vegetables. The only thing that makes sense to do with them is to sauté them in olive oil, because I think steaming them would produce something tasteless. It feels like a bait-and-switch that seems to be a not infrequent G&T fallback position. It’s as if you’ve gotten a salad with all bitter leaves. I think it happened to me with the beef stew, that showed whole vegetables in the dish, but instead the bag of shredded kale showed up. You really need to fix that, G&T, or take a new picture. I’ve seen that the reviews for the haricots vert were that they got slimy in a few short days. But surely there’s something else you could substitute. Just sayin’. I did deduct one star because of that, but then changed it back to five stars, because I did love the main portion, which was very tasty, and also generous. The potatoes come as huge clumps. If using a countertop oven, watch it closely because it gets hot and browned much sooner than the directions indicate. I would order this again because it was so good, but I would also hope that G&T listens to the criticisms they’ve solicited.
